SharePoint is a platform of Microsoft 365 that is used for collaboration within an organization. It is a website that acts like a file database or content management system. Employees can easily store files and share them within the organization.

The problem may occur when you want to import an Excel file in SharePoint to Power BI. When you try to get data via the Excel workbook, you have to go to the file location. However, it may difficult to access Sharepoint locations sometimes.

There is another way that I usually use. You can get data via the web.

Get data via web

The input URL can be acquired if you can open the excel file.

From the Excel file, click on the File tab. Then, click Info and Copy path. After that, paste the copied path in the URL in Power BI.

You should see the .xlsx?web=1 in the link. Delete ?web=1 and click OK.

Done!!
